Hello my name is Alice. I am a Los Angeles based Sommelier. I am starting this blog to share my favorite wines and pairing recipes.
Here is my story.
Transplant from Tokyo. Love and passion in wine and food. Alice started her career in banking business, but could not drop her life long dream of working in the gastronomy world.
When she completed the program at the acclaimed international wine school Academie du Vin Tokyo, originally headquartered in Paris, then the Wine Education and Management program at UCLA, she came to the conclusion that she would adventure into the world of wine.
Alice spent few years in winery PR and events company where she met wine makers and professionals from around the world, and learned the wine business in depth. Then she took a position as the lead sommelier at the prominent restaurant in Beverly Hills, overseeing the extensive wine program with 700 selections and 3,000 bottles on stock. She enjoyed three years working there, further expanding the experience in wine service, and achieved the Best of Award of Excellence with Wine Spectator.
She is currently working as a freelance wine consultant, educator, and writer. She holds a number of wine and food related certifications/titles including Court of Master Sommelier and WSET.
